WHAT WE DO

The purpose of Toastmasters is to help members overcome apprehensions about speaking in public and to improve their communication skills. In London Olympians, we provide a self-paced, fun and supportive environment to learn and develop these skills.

This helps members become more effective particularly in these areas:

These skills are developed in club meetings which are designed to provide an opportunity to practice speaking techniques in a variety of situations. A typical Toastmasters meeting involve the following sections:

The best way to experience a typical London Olympians meeting is to visit. We strive to be the friendliest speakers club in London.

SPEECHES

Members of the club would be given the Toastmasters Pathway education manual, where each speech project is designed to develop specific skills. Members would then schedule a date when they are ready to deliver the project.

EVALUATION

Evaluations give constructive feedback to speakers, highlighting the effective aspects of their speeches while providing recommendations for improvement. Effective evaluations are a hallmark of Toasmasters.

TABLE TOPICS

In London Olympians we like to call this the fun part of our meeting where members and guests are given the opportunity to speak on a random topic for 1 – 2 minutes. This give us the opportunity to practice impromptu speaking skills while having fun.
